David Lynn Thomas (born 1953 in Miami, Florida) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician.
He was one of the founding members of the short-lived protopunkers Rocket From The Tombs (1974-1975), where he went by the name of Crocus Behemoth, and of post-punk group Pere Ubu (1975 - present, intermittently). He has also released several solo albums. Though primarily a singer, he sometimes plays melodeon, trombone, guitar or other instruments.

David John Thomas (1881 - 1928), often known by his bardic name of "Afan", was a Welsh composer, conductor and organist.
Thomas is remembered mainly for his hymn tunes and songs such as "Drosom ni" and "Cymru fach i mi". Other works include a cantata, "Merch y llyn" ("Lady of the Lake"), and a choral work, "He fell among thieves", with words by Sir Henry Newbolt.

He is Professor of Geography at the University of Oxford, and a Professorial Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford. His research deals with desertification, dryland environments, climate change and other environmental phenomena. He received his DPhil from the University of Oxford. Between 1984 and 1998 he taught at the University of Sheffield.
David Thomas (June 11, 1762 - November 27, 1831) was a United States Representative from New York. Born in Pelham, Massachusetts, he completed preparatory studies, served as a volunteer in 1777, and joined the Fifth Massachusetts Regiment as a corporal in 1781, later becoming a sergeant in the Third Massachusetts Regiment. He moved to Salem, New York in 1784, where he conducted a tavern for several years. He was commissioned a captain in the State militia in 1786 and rose to the rank of major general of the northern division of the Militia of New York in 1805. He engaged in mercantile pursuits, and was a member of the New York State Assembly in 1794 and from 1798 to 1899.
Thomas was supervisor of the town of Salem from 1797 to 1800, and was justice of the peace from 1798 to 1801 and in 1804 and 1811. He was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Seventh and to the three succeeding Congresses and served from March 4, 1801, to May 1, 1808, when he resigned; he served as treasurer of the State of New York from February 5, 1808, to February 8, 1810, and again from February 18, 1812, to February 10, 1813. He moved to Providence, Rhode Island, where he died in 1831; interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Salem.

David was born and raised in Haverfordwest and lives near Llanwddyn, having moved there in 1986. He was educated in the primary and secondary schools in Haverfordwest, at the Universities of Oxford (Keble College) and Wales (Cardiff and Aberystwyth) and the South Wales Theological College.
