David Julian Hirsh (born in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian actor, who is best known for starring in shows such as Naked Josh, the American version of Un Gars et une Fille - called Love Bites, and Mordecai Richler's St. Urbain's Horseman, a miniseries set to air in 2007.
In 2005, he won the Gemini Award for producing the documentary film, Camp Hollywood.
A native of Montreal, David Julian Hirsh left the University of Toronto one credit shy of a degree in Criminology and decided to study acting in New York. David studied at a variety of places including The Lee Strasberg Theater Institute and The Actor's Studio. He was kicked out of Uta Hagen's master class. He worked on several off-Broadway plays including One Hundred Gates with Elliot Gould. During this time, he supported himself working for Calvin and Kelly Klein as a personal bartender. David has played the role of Josh in "Naked Josh" for the first two seasons, which airs on Showcase and Oxygen networks. This year, David has starred in a pilot called "Crazy", with Lara Flynn Boyle, has played a recurring role on CSI:NY, and shot a third season on Naked Josh. In November 2005, David also won the Gemini Award (canadian Emmy) with Steve Markle for producing "Camp Hollywood". The documentary has aired on Bravo and will be seen on the Sundance channel in 2006.
