David Greenwalt is an American screenwriter. He was born in Los Angeles, California on October 16, 1949. He has served as writer, director and producer on many television shows.
He was a staff writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and co-creator of its spinoff, Angel. He is also co-creator of the short lived cult television show Profit.

Left his position as head writer on "Angel" (1999/I) after its third season in 2002 to join the new series "Miracles" (2003) as executive producer and head writer. But he remained consulting producer on "Angel" and stayed in touched with the writing staff in season four.
Since he left "Angel" (1999/I) after the third season he has executive produced both "Miracles"(2003) and "Jake 2.0" (2003). Currently (November 2005) he is producing and writing for the TV series "Surface" (2005).
Returned after two years absence (remaining consulting producer, though) to "Angel" (1999/I) when he heard that the show was canceled in February 2004 to direct one last episode (5.20 "The Girl in Question").
Received a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Drama, English and Education from University of Redlands in California.
