David "Dave" Thomas (July 2, 1932 - January 8, 2002) was an American restaurateur and philanthropist. Thomas was the founder and chief executive officer of Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers, a fast-food restaurant chain specializing in hamburgers. He is also known for appearing in more than 800 commercial advertisements for the chain from 1989 to 2002-more than any other person in television history.
David "Dave" Thomas (born May 20, 1949) is a Canadian comedian and actor. He was born in St. Catharines, Ontario, but moved to Dundas, Ontario with his family where he attended elementary and secondary school. He had a long and successful playing career, playing for almost 20 years and totalling over 450 league appearances whilst playing for Burnley, QPR, Everton, Vancouver Whitecaps, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He won 8 England caps overall whilst at Queens Park Rangers. His first England cap was given to him by manager Don Revie on October 30, 1974 in a 3-0 win against Czechoslovakia. Dave Thomas was one of Britain's foremost golfers of the 1950s and 1960s, winning over a dozen tournaments in Britain and Europe, and twice finishing second in Open Championship. In 1958, he tied with Peter Thomson at Lytham before narrowly losing the playoff, and in 1966, finished just one shot behind Jack Nicklaus. He represented Great Britain in the Ryder Cup in 1959, 1963, 1965 and 1967, accumulating a 3-10-5 win-loss-half record, but was only once beaten in five singles matches. He was renowned for his long, straight, driving, once hitting a drive at Hoylake onto the green at the 420-yard second hole. After retiring he set up a golf course design business. His dozens of original designs include the Brabazon, Derby and PGA National courses at Ryder Cup venue The Belfry, and his redesigns include the Open Championship venue Turnberry.
Dave G. Thomas (born August 25, 1968 in Miami, Florida) is a former professional American football defensive back who played nine seasons in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the New York Giants. Before his NFL career, he played for the University of Tennessee and was drafted by the Cowboys in the 8th round of the 1993 NFL Draft.

Dave left advertising after three years to work at Second City Company in Toronto with Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Gilda Radner, and Eugene Levy. He subsequently co-founded NBC's critically acclaimed comedy series "Second City TV" (1976), along with co-stars Harold Ramis (I), Catherine O'Hara (I), Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin (I), and John Candy. During the show's five-year run, Dave won an Emmy Award, 4 Emmy nominations for his comedy writing, an ACTRA Award for Best Variety Performer and the Earl Grey Award in 1993. With Rick Moranis, Dave co-created the infamous McKenzie Brothers and co-starred in the cult hit comedy film Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew, The (1983) (MGM). Strange Brew won the Golden Reel Award for the highest box office grossing movie in Canada in 1983. The duo won Gold and Platinum Albums and a Grammy nomination. Mr. Thomas' production company, Maple Palm Productions, produced an Ace nominated comedy special for Showtime entitled The Time Travels of Henry Osgood starring Bronson Pinchot, Catherine O'Hara (I), John Candy, Martin Short (I), and Joe Flaherty (I), a special for CBS in 1990 entitled "Standup at Forty" starring Gary Shandling, Bonnie Hunt, Martin Short, George Plimpton and Richard Belzer. In 1992 Maple Palm produced another comedy special, this time for ABC entitled "Inside American's Unsolved Mysteries". In 1994, Maple Palm produced a reality pilot for ABC entitled "Family Challenge" (1995). ABC elected not to pick up the series, so Maple Palm produced 130 hour-long episodes of "Family Challenge" (1995) for the Family Channel with Woody Fraser. In 1999, Maple Palm Productions and Dave Thomas produced Ambushed (1998) a movie for HBO, starring Courtney B. Vance, Virginia Madsen, and David Keith (I), directed by Ernest R. Dickerson. Ambushed (1998) was the highest rated television show in its time slot when it first aired in 1999. Currently, Dave is a partner in Animax Interactive, an online production company creating sponsored interactive content and designing Web Pages for such companies as Ford, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Brothers and Verizon. Dave lives in Malibu, California with his wife Kim and three children John, Emily and Harry.
Dave Thomas is a founding partner and President of Animax Entertainment, an animation company based in Culver City with an office in Toronto. Animax does a lot of work for Disney, won a broadband animation Emmy for "Off Mikes" (ESPN) in 2006. Animax animates a show called "Slacker Cats" for ABC Family and another show for BET entitled "Bufu". The company has 60 writers and artists working for clients like Kodak, AOL, Sesame, Warner Brothers, National Geographic, and MGM.
