Damages is a Golden Globe winning American legal drama television series. The initial season's plotline revolved around a brilliant yet ruthless lawyer (Glenn Close) attempting to win a class-action lawsuit against the former CEO of a corporation (Ted Danson) on behalf of his former workers, by any means necessary (see plot). The show debuted on FX in the US on July 24, 2007, without commercial interruption, and ran for 13 episodes. It debuted in the UK on BBC One on 11 January 2008 and in New Zealand on TVNZ One on 7 November 2007. It debuted in Latin America on AXN on 12 February 2008, in Canada on Showcase on 18 February, and in France on Canal + on 28 February 2008. The first episode, "Get Me A Lawyer", was made available free of charge on the UK iTunes Store by the BBC.
Despite positive critical reaction, the show consistently received low ratings. However FX renewed the show for two more seasons of 13 episodes each, which were set to start production in February 2008.
Win at all costs.
