Curious George is a traditionally-animated film adaptation of the children's stories by H.A. and Margret Rey. It was released in the United States on February 10, 2006. Will Ferrell voices Ted, The Man in The Yellow Hat. Matthew O'Callaghan directed (after replacing Jun Falkenstein). This project had been in development hell at Imagine Entertainment for a long time, dating back at least as long ago as 1992 (and possibly many years before this). The screenplay was written by Michael McCullers, Daniel Gerson, Rob Baird, Joe Stillman and Karey Kirkpatrick. Although it is a traditionally-animated film, about twenty percent of it takes place in 3D environments that were computer-generated. This was Universal's first theatrically-released feature-length animated film since 1995's Balto and first theatrically-released feature-length film to be rated G by the MPAA since 1998's Babe: Pig in the City. It was also both Imagine Entertainment's first animated film and its first film to be rated G by the MPAA.
Curious George is a 2006 animated television series based on the popular Curious George children's book series and motion picture, which features Jeff Bennett as the voice of The Man with the Yellow Hat. Frank Welker, who voiced George in the film, returns here as the voice of Curious George. The stories of Season one were narrated by William H. Macy, and Season two is narrated by Rino Romano. The show is currently screened on PBS Kids. George is known as a monkey but is missing a tail, which would make him some kind of ape. Though some species of macaque are tailless, George resembles a chimpanzee rather than a macaque.
The series is produced by Universal Animation Studios (Universal Pictures released the Curious George film), NBC Universal Television, in association with WGBH Boston. Each episode has two short cartoons per half-hour episode and a live-action segment after each story.
The series specifically attempts to illustrate and explain various concepts in math and science and each live-action segment shows schoolchildren engaging in experiments that teach the math or science concept featured in the previous cartoon.
Ted, works as a guide at the Bloomsberry museum, sent on a 'business' trip of sorts by the museum's owner, to find a Zagawa shrine, he encounters a playfully mischievous and curious monkey...actually a chimp who he nicknames 'George' after the George Washinghton statue. His trip being less than a success, he returns stateside, only to find George wanting to return Ted's hat, has stowed away on-board Ted's boat. Back in the states Ted finds himself lumbered with George, who can't help but make Ted's life even more hectic than it already is. Written by suspiciousaccount
