Coy Watson Jr. (born November 16, 1912, in Los Angeles, California) was an American child actor of the silent era. He is the son of actor, stuntman, and pioneer special effects artist Coy Watson Sr.
The younger Watson made his film debut in 1921, and appeared in approximately 24 films over a period of eight years. He had six brothers and three sisters who also acted in films, including Billy, Delmar, Garry, Harry and Bobs Watson. Because he was featured in several of Mack Sennett's popular "Keystone Cop" comedies, he earned the nickname, "The Keystone Kid".
Watson's autobiography, The Keystone Kid: Tales of Early Hollywood, was published in 2001.
Eldest of the Watkins clan of child actors -- the others are Gloria Watson, Vivian Watson (II), Louise Watson, Harry Watson (II), Billy Watson (II), Delmar Watson (I), Garry Watson (I) and Bobs Watson.
Son of J.C. Watson (I).
He and his younger brother Bobs Watson were born on the same day (November 16) eighteen years apart.
Earned the name "The Keystone Kid" when he played in Mack Sennett's "Keystone Cop" comedies from the time he was a 9 months old until he was 22.
