Clifford Rose is a British classical actor (born October 24 1929 in Herefordshire, England).
He was educated at the King's School, Worcester and King's College London, before appearing in repertory theatre and with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
His most notable role was as the character Sturmbannführer Ludwig Kessler in the BBC World War II television drama Secret Army and its sequel Kessler.
He also played leading roles in Alan Bleasdale's drama GBH, Fortunes of War, and The Pallisers. Additionally he appeared as Rorvik in the Doctor Who story Warriors' Gate.
He plays King George V in the TV film Wallis and Edward.
Clifford Rose also played a judge in some episodes of the 70s/80s British television series "Crown Court" and Dr Snell an interogative psychologist for "The Section" in the classic British 1960-70's spy drama Callan.
Married to Celia Ryder of Mirror Crack'd, The (1992) (TV). Has two children, Jonathan Rose and Rosalind Cooke. One grandchild, Charlie Cooke. Has American daughter-in-law Angie Rose. Brother of David Rose (VII) Confessions of a Window Cleaner (1974), and brother-in-law of Pamela Barrie-Rose "Bill, The" (1984).
