China Xinjiang Airlines (Wikipedia.org)

China Xinjiang Airlines (中国新疆航空公司) (IATA code XO ; ICAO code CXJ) was an airline based in the People's Republic of China owned by CAAC. In 2003, the airline was acquired by China Southern Airlines.

The airline had been founded in 1985. It was based in Ürümqi, the provincial capital of Xinjiang, and had a secondary hub in Changzhou in the Jiangsu province near Nanjing. It operated a fleet of ATR72, Boeing 757-200 and Ilyushin Il-86 aircraft when it was merged into China Southern Airlines.

Despite the fact that the airline had a color scheme that was identical to that of Aeroflot, it was never formerly a part of Aeroflot. The airline utilized airplanes that were once operated by Aeroflot, and kept them in the previous Aeroflot colors.
