For the actor, see Charles Levin (actor).
Charles Leonard Levin (born April 28, 1926 in Detroit) was a Michigan jurist. He served as a Michigan Court of Appeals judge from 1966 to 1972 and as a justice of the Michigan Supreme Court from 1973 to 1996.
Levin's father, Theodore Levin, was a federal district court judge. His brother, Joseph Levin, was a candidate for a seat in the United States House of Representatives. His cousin Carl Levin is a U.S. senator. His cousin Sander Levin is a U.S. representative.
Levin is married to Helene White, a Michigan Court of Appeals judge. White was nominated by President Bill Clinton to the Federal Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit at the end of his first term. A hearing on her nomination was blocked by, then U.S. Senator from Michigan, Spencer Abraham. White has the unfortunate distinction of being the longest-waiting nominee in U.S. history to secure a hearing, over 5 years. White never received a hearing on her nomination before President Clinton's second term expired.
Charles Levin and Helene White have two children, Benjamin Joseph White Levin and Francesca Rhoda White Levin born in 1993 and 1996 respectively. They reside in Detroit, Michigan.

He also played the mohel on "The Bris" episode of Seinfeld and "Coco" the flamboyant gay butler on the pilot episode of The Golden Girls (his part was dropped in favor of making Estelle Getty a regular).
He appeared as a guest star on many television shows including Family Ties, Alice, Tales from the Darkside, The Twilight Zone, The Facts of Life, Falcon Crest (as Arthur Habermann), Punky Brewster (as Officer Bob), thirtysomething, Night Court, L.A. Law (as Robert Caporale), Designing Women, Murphy Brown, NYPD Blue, and Law & Order.
