Caroline Marie Henn (born on May 7, 1976 in Panama City, Florida, U.S.) is a Saturn Award-winning former child actress, who became famous as Newt, the little girl brought under the protection of Sigourney Weaver's character Ellen Ripley in the movie Aliens, the second installment of the Alien series.
Aliens was in fact Henn's only film role, and she has repeatedly stated that she has no plans to return to acting.
In 1987, Carrie won the Saturn Award for "Best Performance By A Younger Actor". She was also nominated for the Young Artist Awards that same year. In 2003, Carrie was co-nominated for a DVD Exclusive Award for her commentary work on the Alien Quadrilogy box set.
Henn's father was an officer of the U.S. Air Force, and his duties led the family to relocate to England in the mid-1980s, where Carrie auditioned and got the part of "Newt" in the movie. In 1992 she attended the premiere of Alien³ with Sigourney Weaver, who later expressed discomfort with Carrie seeing the scene featuring Newt's dead body.
In 1994, Carrie graduated from Atwater High School in Atwater, California. She later attended California State University, Stanislaus, in Turlock, California, and graduated in 2000 with a BA in liberal studies. During this time, Carrie also worked for Costco in Merced, California.
In 2005, Carrie was married to Nathan Kutcher, the youngest cousin of Tommy Lee Jones, and a fellow student of Carrie's at California State University, Stanislaus who also graduated in 2000, but with a BA in Criminal Justice. "blank">Stanislaus State University, Magazine Fall/Winter 2005 Vol. 23 No. 1" Her marriage to Kutcher was annulled in December 2005, and she has since become engaged to fellow former child actor and roommate _Emil Minty. Henn is an avid orchid enthusiast.
