Carly Corinthos Jacks (formerly Quartermaine,Corinthos and Alcazar, born Caroline Leigh Benson) is a fictional character on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital. The role of Carly was originated by Sarah Brown in 1996, who received three Emmys for her portrayal. Tamara Braun stepped into the role in 2001 when Brown opted not to re-sign with the show. Braun vacated the role in 2005, and a new actress, Jennifer Bransford was cast to replace her. However, this move was not well received by fans, and after six months Bransford was replaced by daytime vet Laura Wright.
