Bruce Gray (born September 9, 1939) is a Puerto Rican character actor.
Gray was born Robert Bruce Gray in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Canadian parents. He was raised on the island until the age of ten when, in 1946, his parents relocated to Saginaw, Michigan then in 1950 relocated again to Toronto Canada.
He is probably best known to Canadian audiences for his portrayal of investment banker Adam Cumingham on the Global Television Network series Traders, or the father of the groom in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
However, he has made appearances in American media; particularly in science fiction. He portrayed Sky Marshall Diennes in the movie version of Starship Troopers, an interrogator of Captain John Sheridan on Babylon 5, and legendary Vulcan philosopher Surak on Star Trek Enterprise.
He appeared several times on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine as blank">Admiral Chekote (contrary to rumor, this character is not related to _Chakotay from Star Trek: Voyager). He also had a guest-starring role on the popular cable television series Queer as Folk, playing a wealthy gay millionaire. (George Schickel)
Gray was also the face of the leader of a fictitious anti-Amsterdam organization in a print and internet advertising campaign for Amstel beer.
He is currently seen in a recurring role on Medium, as Joe Dubois' dead father, appearing in dream sequences. 2005-2008.
Sculptor Bruce Gray (born 1956 Orange, New Jersey) is an artist residing in Los Angeles. His work includes kinetic art such as rolling ball machines, mobiles, stabiles, and suspended magnetic sculptures. He also creates found objects sculptures such as a lifesize motorcycle sculpture constructed from train parts, and giant objects such as a large aluminum wedge of Swiss cheese and giant high heel shoes. Gray's work has been displayed at many museums, art galleries, and is part of over 1200 corporate and private art collections. His work has appeared in hundreds of films and television shows including Austin Powers, Meet the Fockers, Batman Forever, Sleeping with the Enemy, Six Feet Under, Seinfeld, Star Trek, Friends, Frasier, Roseanne, Murphy Brown, and NYPD Blue.
Bruce Gray's sculptures can be seen at Little Rock National Airport, Edwards Air Force Base, Vanderbilt University, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Children's Hospital Boston, Kapor Enterprises, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, A&M Records, Network Solutions, and The Rolling Ball Museum permanent collection, Seoul, Korea.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Canadian parents. He returned to Toronto with them when he was thirteen.
Attended Humberside Collegiate Institute (high school), where he was an honours student, and a member of the swim team and the student council.
Was candidate for "Mr. Canada" in his high-school yearbook.
Graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters degree in Psychology before heading to London, England in 1960.
Best known in Canada for his role of Adam Cunningham on "Traders" (1996) (1996-2000).
