"Broken" is a song by post-grunge band Seether with Shaun Morgan's then girlfriend Amy Lee from Evanescence. It is the twelfth track on their album Disclaimer. It was re-released in the album Disclaimer II. Although the song was recorded with Amy Lee the song had been written long before Shaun Morgan and Amy Lee were dating. The Nigel Dick-directed music video has Shaun Morgan sitting in a car playing an acoustic guitar and Amy Lee wandering around a ruined landscape with black angel wings. Shortly after the song was recorded the two split up.
The song gained notable popularity in 2004 when it appeared on the soundtrack to Marvel Comics' The Punisher. Its inclusion in the film's trailers, not to mention heavy airplay at the time of its release, made it one of the most popular songs Seether has ever recorded.
Chris Daughtry sang this song on American Idol in the Top 16
"I'm Broken" is a song by the heavy metal group Pantera from the 1994 album Far Beyond Driven. It was the first single issued from the album. "I'm Broken" reached #19 on the UK Singles Chart. The song features one of guitarist Dimebag Darrell's most famous riffs.
Here's a comment from Dimebag Darrell about the riff:
"I'm Broken" was a sound check riff – one of them ones where I'd walk in with a hangover from ripping it up night after night with everyone in every town. That's where a lot of the best riffs I ever wrote came from. I just played the first riff I thought of, Vinnie started kickin' in on it, Rex joined in – we didn't write the entire song on the spot, but we kept toying with it and finally worked on it once we got into the studio.
"Broken" is Sonata Arctica's fifth single released in 2003 through Spinefarm Records in Finland.
