Brian Wade Grant (born March 5 1972, in Columbus, Ohio) is a retired American basketball player. He played the power forward and center positions for five teams during 12 seasons in the National Basketball Association. He was known for his tenacious rebounding and blue-collar defense. During his career, he played with the Sacramento Kings (where he made First Team All-Rookie in the 1994-1995 season), Portland Trail Blazers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns.
Brian Grant is a British television director, famed for directing episodes of British television series including Highlander: The Raven, Clocking Off, Doctor Who, Hex and Sinchronicity. He has also directed several Olivia Newton-John music videos.
Started my career in the seventies as a cameraman. Worked on hundreds of productions ranging in content from drama to news and current affairs. Projects included "Edward the Seventh", "The Strauss Family", "Anthony & Cleopatra", "Sapphire & Steel", "Long Days Journey Into Night", "Hamlet" and "The Muppet Show". Also shot a number of small British documentaries. In 1979, started a production company and directed over 200 music videos for artists such as Tina Turner, Queen, Whitney Houston, Duran Duran, The Rolling Stones, Olivia Newton John, David Bowie, Aretha Franklyn, Donna Summer, The Bee Gees, The Moody Blues, Spandau Ballet and Peter Gabriel. Won many prestigious awards including the first Music Video Grammy. Also directed over 30 commercials, including spots for Chrysler, Pepsi, and Ford. In the nineties directed a number of TV series and films. Secured a first look deal with Universal Studios. Recently, directed and produced the highly acclaimed series "As If" for Channel 4, "Hex" for Columbia Tristar and Sky and most recently "Party Animals" for the BBC.
