Brenda Bruce (b. 7 July 1918, Manchester - d. 19 February 1996, London) was a British actress of film, stage and television.

Lont-time actress with the Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as the Birmingham Repertory Company (1936-1939).

Started on the stage as a teenage chorus girl.

Both of her husbands died of cancer; her only son died in childhood of asthma.

Was the RSC's resident Mistress Page in "The Merry Wives of Windor", playing the role in 1964, 1968, 1975 and 1995.

During the 1950s she worked prolifically on television, presenting a chat show with her husband Roy Rich (I) called "Rich and Rich" and appearing in many dramas.

She ran a hotel near Stratford during her RSC years.
