Phillip Bradley Bird, better known as Brad Bird (born on September 11, 1957), is the two-time Academy Award-winning American director of Disney/Pixar's critical and box office hits The Incredibles (2004) and Ratatouille (2007). He also wrote and directed the 1999 Warner Bros. film The Iron Giant. Reviewing the Ratatouille DVD, Eye Weekly offered this characterization of Bird's work: "It’s hard to think of another mainstream American director with a comparably fluid visual style or such a vise-grip on storytelling mechanics."
Started training as an animator at 14.
Trained as a Disney animator.
Graduated from Corvallis High School (Corvallis, Oregon), 1975.
One of his sons, Nicholas Bird (II), did the voice of Squirt in Finding Nemo (2003) and Little Boy on the Tricycle in Incredibles, The (2004).
His oldest son is Michael Bird (IV), who he provided the voice of Tony Rydinger in Incredibles, The (2004).
With Incredibles, The (2004), he was the first person to receive a solo writing credit on a feature-length film from Pixar Animation Studios.
