Boyd Banks (born April 16, 1964) is a Canadian stand-up comedian known for doing edgy material, and an actor who has appeared in such films as Dawn of the Dead (2004), Phil the Alien (2004) and Cinderella Man (2005). Among his other television credits he is a member of the repertory cast of the A&E TV original series, A Nero Wolfe Mystery and has had recurring roles in The Red Green Show and Little Mosque on the Prairie.
Born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Boyd Banks started his entertainment career at 17, when he won a contest for Best Stand Up Comedian in Edmonton, Alberta. After spending several years doing comedy in Vancouver, British Columbia, Banks moved to Toronto, where he began acting. Boyd's first roles were in various comedy series such as the cult favourite "Kids in the Hall, The" (1988). His unique character looks and subtle performances on camera caught the eye of Toronto's top casting directors and Banks now works regularly in film and television from comedies to murder mysteries!
