Bottom was a British sitcom of the early 1990s (and later a series of stage shows) written by Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. They were also the main stars, respectively playing Richard Richard (Richie) and Edward Elizabeth Hitler (Eddie), who share a flat in Hammersmith, West London. The programme ran for three series, and is noted for its derivation of comic effect from intentionally crude and highly violent slapstick.
The series also spawned five live stage tours between 1993 and 2003, each of which was commercially released, and a film adaptation in 1999 entitled Guest House Paradiso.
The series theme tune is performed by The Bum Notes -- a jazz ensemble featuring Edmondson. The memorable end-credits, featuring silhouettes of Edmondson and Mayall fighting and dancing, features a cover of "Last Night" originally by The Mar-Keys.
Bottom is another comedy series created by the team that made The Young Ones. Edward (Adrian Edmondson) and Richard (Rik Mayall) are best buddys living off the government doing nothing more than having a good time and breaking stuff. Written by Graham Wilson Jr
Richard "Richie" Richard and Edward "Eddie" Elizabeth Hitler (No relation) are two losers who share a flat in Hammersmith. Richie has never had sex and doesn't have a girlfriend and doesn't accept the fact that women don't want to sleep with him and Eddie is a bald alcholic who has bit of a drinking problem and he loves smashing everything to pieces. Both Richie and Eddie are unemployed and they spend most of time beating each other up and breaking everything and they get very frustrated with each other and they find themselves in all sorts of situations, as both Richie and Eddie are both on the bottom end of the social spectrum.
