Bonkers is an animated American television series that aired from November 19, 1993 to December 21, 1995 on Disney Channel.
The series originated from the aborted attempt to do a television adaptation of Who Framed Roger Rabbit due to legal complications, so the show created original characters in a world where "toons" and humans co-exist. Unlike the film that inspired it, however, Bonkers was entirely animated and featured no live action.
Bonkers! was an ATV variety show from 1979, distributed by ITC Entertainment.
Starring Bob Monkhouse and the Hudson Brothers - Bill, Brett and Mark - the show featured sketches, guest stars and musical numbers. Whilst not a big hit for ATV, it gained a cult audience in the United States where it was compared to Saturday Night Live.
After four episodes the show was curtailed in the UK by the 13-week long ITV strike of 1979 and did not reappear when the network restarted broadcasts; however, production for syndication continued and 24 episodes in total were made.
Once upon a time in Toon Town there was a cat who had it all. Fortune and fame, top of his game. Up until he hit the wall. Now he's down and out in Toon Town as a Comic Cop who solve crimes with hilarious results. With the help of his partners - Lucky Piquel (his first partner) and Miranda Wright (his second partner).
