Blood Money is a 1917 film featuring Harry Carey.
A remake of an episode from the US TV series "Playhouse 90" (1956) (Requiem for a Heavyweight (1957)), broadcast live by the BBC in the UK. Jack Palance (the star of the original US broadcast) was unavailable for this version so a nationwide hunt was mounted to find a suitable replacement. The part eventually went to an unknown actor called Sean Connery.
This was one of the first seven films to be foreclosed by the Screen Actors Guild for non-payment of wages and residuals to SAG members. On 13 July 2004, rights to the film were sold at auction.
HIS "IN" ALWAYS GOT THEM OUT! Only to get them in his merciless grasp! What price bail?
Get the keys. Get the money. Get to work!
This movie was thought to be lost, but was found in 2000-2002 while making an inventory of the film collection of Joop van Liemt.
Over the last 50 years, millions of Jewish victims of the Holocaust have claimed and obtained monetary compensation for the persecution, enslavement, and dispossession as well as the restitution of confiscated property. The German government has already paid out over 100 billion marks, and although more than 90% of all Holocaust survivors have now died, new claims continue to surface.
