Blake Shelton (born June 18 1976 in Ada, Oklahoma ) is an American neotraditional country musician and singer-songwriter. In 2001, he made his debut with the single "Austin"; released as the lead-off single from his self-titled debut album, "Austin" went on to spend five weeks at Number One on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts.
Between 2001 and the present, Shelton has charted thirteen singles on the Billboard country singles charts, including three Number Ones. His first three albums -- Blake Shelton (2001), The Dreamer (2003) and Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill (2005) have all achieved RIAA gold certification in the United States. A fourth album, Pure BS, was released in 2007.
