William John "Battlin' Billy" Smith (born December 12, 1950, in Perth, Ontario) was a professional ice hockey goaltender and is best known for winning four Stanley Cups and being the first goalie to be credited with a goal.
William John Smith (born 12 July, 1942) was the leading halfback in Australian rugby league during the late 1960s and early 1970s and one of the keystones of the latter part of the St. George Dragons eleven consecutive premiership victories between 1956 and 1966. He represented for Australia in eighteen Tests and eight World Cup games between 1964 and 1970. He captained Australia in one World Cup game against Great Britain in 1970.
Billy Smith (born May 23, 1895 in Tantobie, England) was a professional footballer who played all his career at Huddersfield Town.
He is one of Huddersfield's all-time goalscorers with 126 goals in his career between 1913 and 1934.
He scored Huddersfield's winning goal in the 1922 FA Cup Final against Preston North End at Stamford Bridge.
He also won 3 caps for England.
He was also the first person ever to score from a corner.
Him and his son Conway Smith were the first father and son to score 100 goals each.
His grandson robert played in the last ever match at the leeds road ground before it was sadly knocked down.
