William John "Billy" Burke, born Burkowski (December 14, 1902 - April 19, 1972) was a prominent American golfer of the 1930s. His greatest season was 1931, when he won the U.S. Open, reached the semi-finals of the PGA Championship, and won four events on the professional circuit, plus appeared on the Ryder Cup team where he was undefeated in two matches. Subsequently he was selected for the 1933 Ryder Cup team and won his only match. His 1931 U.S. Open win came in a marathon playoff. He and George Von Elm were tied at 292 (8 over par) after regulation play. They played a 36-hole playoff the next day and tied again at 149 (7 over par). The following day they played 36 more holes and Burke emerged victorious 148 to 149. He was born in Naugatuck, Connecticut and died in Clearwater, Florida.

Burke was born in Bellingham, Washington. He is known for his recurring role as Gary Matheson in the second season of 24. He has also guest starred in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (in the episode "Second Skin"), Party of Five, Gilmore Girls, Karen Sisco and Monk.
His motion picture credits include Jane Austen's Mafia!, Along Came a Spider, Final Jeopardy, Flashpoint and Ladder 49. His upcoming film credits include The Fallen, Forfeit, Fracture and Retirement. His most recent film is Feast of Love (2007), co-starring Selma Blair and Morgan Freeman.
Burke is also one of the "famous faces" due to being a regular player on the online poker website Hollywood Poker which is run in conjunction with Ongame Network.
On January 25, 2008 Burke stated in a radio interview with Portland, Oregon's radio station 105.1 that he has been cast in the upcoming movie Twilight, based on the best-selling novel by Stephenie Meyer. On February 25, 2008 it was confirmed that Burke will be playing the role of Charlie Swan.
Billy Burke (born 1953) is a Pentecostal faith healer. Pastor Burke's main base of ministry is in Florida, but he also conducts services internationaly, and throughout the country and regularly visits western Pennsylvania, particularly the blank">First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh where he says he was healed of brain cancer by faith healer _Kathryn Kuhlman when he was 9 years old.
Billy Burke was born and raised in Bellingham, Washington, USA. He began singing at age nine, and joined a band at age fifteen. He continued to work with bands and study/performing drama at Western Washington University. He performed in Seattle at the Annex Theater, New City Festival, and the A.H.A. Theater. He made his feature film dbut in the independent film "Dare Dreamer," and then moved to Los Angeles, CA, USA, to pursue a career in singing and acting. He has since appeared in such films as "Mafia!," "Marshal Law," and "Roman Paris." He has made guest appearances on such television shows as "Party of Five" and "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine."
