Big Brother is a reality television show. In each series, which lasts for around three months, a number of people (normally fewer than fifteen at any one time) live together full-time in the "Big Brother House", isolated from the outside world but under the continuous gaze of television cameras. The roommates try to win a cash prize by avoiding periodic, usually publicly-voted, evictions from the house. The idea for "Big Brother" came during a brainstorm session at the production house of John de Mol Produkties (an independent part of Endemol) on Thursday, September 4, 1997. The first Big Brother broadcast was in the Netherlands in 1999 on the Veronica TV channel. It has been a prime-time hit in almost 70 different countries. The show's name comes from George Orwell's 1949 novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, in which Big Brother is the leader of the dystopian Oceania.
Big Brother is a reality television series broadcast in the United States and Canada on CBS and Global respectively. The premise of the gameshow is for contestants to live in isolation from the outside world in a custom-built house. The winner is the last contestant remaining in the house at the end of the series as participants are evicted by their fellow "HouseGuests". The winner receives $500,000 and the runner-up receives $50,000. The name for the show comes from George Orwell's 1949 novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, a dystopia in which Big Brother exercises total control over the population. The live shows are hosted by Julie Chen and the recap shows are announced by Clayton Halsey. The show premiered on CBS on July 5, 2000, just a few weeks after the debut of Survivor. It is produced by Endemol USA with Allison Grodner Productions.
Big Brother Australia is a reality television series produced by Endemol Southern Star, and shown on Australian television network Network Ten and in New Zealand TV2 and Prime, until 2006. The premise of the gameshow is a number of contestants throughout Australia live in an isolated compound in Dreamworld, Queensland where their daily lives are recorded and broadcast on national television. Housemates try to avoid being evicted through a public vote, with the aim of becoming the finalist and winning a large cash prize of $1 million at the end of a series. The series title derives from George Orwell's 1949 novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, in which Big Brother is an all-seeing omnipotent leader of the Dystopian Oceania.
The show was hosted by Gretel Killeen from 2001 until 2007, while Mike Goldman provided narration and voice-overs. In late 2007, it was announced that Gretel Killeen would not host the show for its 2008 return. Radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O will be her replacements. In addition to the new hosts, the series will mark the return of the controversial Big Brother Uncut, and a new audition process similar to the format used in the earlier seasons. The 2008 series is set to be going "Back To Basics". Although there was some speculation that the nominations show wouldn't return, instead the nominations would be shown with the daily show. In continuity with major changes surrounding the 2008 series, fan site BehindBigBrother posted what's believed to be the official website design for the upcoming series, discovered in its development stages online on February 20th. In addition, the design reveals what is thought to be the new logo in 2008, featuring a new eye and font.

Big Brother Denmark is a television Series produced by Endemol. It has had a total of 5 seasons and has no plan to have another series
The First Season aired in 2001
Twelve contestants, who have never met are challenged to stay in a house, cut off from any contact with the outside world for 85 days. There is a cash prize of $250,000 for the winner. The contestants are free to leave at any time, but if they do, they walk away empty-handed. Once a week the contestants nominate three members of the group for eviction, with viewers making the final decision, by way of a phone-in, of who will leave the house. Conditions inside the house are basic, but occupants earn money to supplement their rations if they all successfully complete weekly assignments, designed to test their team spirit. Over the weeks the numbers will be whittled away until eventually, one contestant will emerge victorious. In the meantime, the residents of the BIG BROTHER house have no idea of what the public thinks of them or what impact they are having on the world. Written by Anonymous
The concept is simple. A cast of 14 young Australians live out a real-life drama in a purpose built house for three months. 25 cameras will follow their every move, 24 hours a day. House members will compete for a $250,000 cash prize. The person to survive to the end, by earning the greatest respect of their housemates and the viewing public, will walk away with the cash. It's a 'docu-soap', where the characters are fully exposed. All the human drama of a bunch of strangers thrown together, completely cut off from the outside world, sharing everything. All the while, Big Brother, and a massive audience, is watching. Written by Anonymous

I huset fanns allt nödvändigt, men absolut ingen lyx. Written by Robert Olsson

Based on the Dutch series, thirteen strangers who are living in a studio-like house that's filled with cameras and microphones, compete in a series of physical and mental stunts, and some challenging trivia at a chance at $500,000 in this reality soap opera-like summer program. Thirteen of those house guests live in 13 different states. America will watch every single move they compete to be the last one standing, after having twelve house guests evicted. These strangers are the contestants who think they have absolutely nothing in common, and a few are in a shock for their lives. The house guests begin to introduce other people at the Big Brother house. It's the first time they will get to know each other and they're not allowed to say not one word with them until they are in the Big Brother house. The thirteen will be living in the same house for the following two months. They may either find their best friend or worst enemy in that group; and in the end, it's one men for themselves. Then, contestants who have performed their stunts were asked to vote for the person who should be kicked out of the house (which happens to be the loser), and the guest with the most votes, is the loser and will be evicted from the Big Brother household. However, if the participant wins his/her stunts, then the player will be named "Head of the Household," for a day. The guest who stays in the house longer than anybody else does wins $500,000. Big Brother is the UK's biggest reality TV show and is one of the most popular talked-about shows in British TV history. Big Brother takes place entirely within the confines of the Big Brother House. It's essentially a competition between the house mates, the object of which is to be the last remaining house mate in the House. At least one house mate will leave the House every week by a process of nomination and public eviction. Housemates will nominate each other for eviction and those with the most votes from their peers face a public vote. The house mate that receives most public votes leaves the House and is out of the competition. Housemates are provided with a shopping budget each week to buy food and other necessities. Throughout the series house mates will be asked to complete tasks set by Big Brother. If the group does well in the tasks they get rewarded with a bigger shopping budget, plus special treats. On the final night of Big Brother the public vote on which house mate they want to win the show. The house mate with most votes wins a fabulous cash prize! Written by Anonymous
