Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero is a direct to video animated continuance of Batman: The Animated Series, a sequel to Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.

It was delayed for a time, supposedly to avoid unfavorable comparisons to the ultimately critically and financially unsuccessful Batman & Robin, a live-action Batman movie also featuring Mr. Freeze which the studio had more financial stake in. Into the early 2000s, it has seen widespread television airplay, both in its full-length format and cut into half-hour length television episodes.
