The Bangalore Open (sponsored name: Canara Bank Bangalore Open) is a tennis tournament held in Bangalore, India. The tournament began in Hyderabad in 2003, and moved to Bangalore in 2006. This WTA Tour event is a Tier II-tournament and is played on outdoor hardcourts. The 2008 edition was won by 26-year old, 8 time grand-slam champion Serena Williams, who defeated the fourth-seeded swiss Patty Schnyder 7-5, 6-3, in the finals, winning her 29th WTA Tour title.
