Austin, Nichols & Company, Inc. USA, is a distilling company producing several brands of beverages, including the Wild Turkey whiskeys. It is a division of Pernod Ricard.
Austin Nichols (born April 24, 1980) is an American television and movie actor. Nichols has appeared in guest spots on television shows such as CSI, Six Feet Under, and Deadwood. His film roles include the 2004 blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow, in which he was cast as an academic and romantic rival to Jake Gyllenhaal's protagonist. In Wimbledon, a film also released in 2004, Nichols played an arrogant tennis pro, opposite Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany. Signed to a rare holding deal with HBO, he most recently starred in his own series, John from Cincinnati.
Nichols is the son of a 10-time water skiing champion and was raised in Austin, Texas. He became a successful competitive water skier himself, until a shoulder injury forced him to retire. Shortly afterward, Nichols moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in acting.
Austin Nichols was raised in Austin, Texas from birth until the age of 18, when he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in pictures. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 2002 with a degree in creative writing. Austin recently broke off his engagement to Claire Oswalt, his girlfriend of seven years. And his sister, Ashley Nichols, recently gave birth to a baby girl, making Austin an uncle.
Austin was also a competitive water skier, representing the U.S. Junior Water Ski Team in the Pan-American Championships in 1997. Was once ranked #3 in the World Junior Rankings list in the Tricks event and skied in the Junior U.S. Masters Championships twice. Despite this, Austin had to undergo rigorous training to beef up his legs for the role of "Jake Hammond" in Wimbledon (2004). He trained in Los Angeles with Murphy Jensen (1993 French Open Doubles champion with his brother Luke Jensen (I)) for two months and then went to London for a month and trained with Pat Cash (I) (1987 Wimbledon singles champ) prior to filming his role.
