Annie is a 1982 musical film based upon the popular 1977 stage musical of the same name, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and the book by Thomas Meehan.

The film version, released in 1982 by Columbia Pictures, was directed by John Huston, his first and only film musical. The film's reviews ranged from positive to extremely hostile, and in spite of a $57 million US box office take (making it 10th highest grossing film of the year), the film still did not turn a profit on its theatrical release. The film was nominated for five Razzies for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay, and Worst New Star, and John Huston as Worst Director, but won for Worst Supporting Actress for Aileen Quinn.

Annie is a 1999 made-for-television film from The Wonderful World of Disney based on the 1977 stage musical Annie and its 1982 film adaptation, which themselves were based on the Little Orphan Annie comic strip by Harold Gray. The film was released on DVD on May 30, 2000. This version earned 2 Emmy Awards and a 1999 George Foster Peabody Award.

In the depths of the 1930's, Annie is a fiery young orphan girl who must live in a miserable orphanage run by the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. Her seemingly hopeless situation changes dramatically when she is selected to spend a short time at the residence of the wealthy munitions industrialist, Oliver Warbucks. Quickly, she charms the hearts of the household staff and even the seemingly cold-hearted Warbucks cannot help but learn to love this wonderful girl. He decides to help Annie find her long lost parents by offering a reward if they would come to him and prove their identity. However, Miss Hannigan, her evil brother, Rooster, and a female accomplice, plan to impersonate those people to get the reward for themselves which put Annie in great danger. After unsuccessful escape attempts, Grace Farrell (Audra McDonald) comes to take the child home to live two weeks with billionaire Oliver Warbucks (Victor Garber) during Christmas. The plucky orphan worms her way into the hearts of the staff and Mr. Warbucks and even the president of the United States! Even though Mr. Warbucks wants to adopt her, she is still looking for her real parents who left a locket with her when they dropped her off at the orphanage.
