Ann Todd (January 24 1909 - May 6 1993) was a popular English actress and producer.
She was born in Hartford, Cheshire and was educated at St Winifrid's School in Eastbourne. She became a popular actress in such films as Perfect Strangers (1945) (as a nurse) and The Seventh Veil (1947) (as a troubled concert pianist), as well as several of David Lean's films including Madeleine (1949) and The Sound Barrier (1952). Lean became her third husband. She later produced a series of travel films.
She died from a stroke aged 84.
Her first husband, Victor Malcolm, was the grandson of Lily Langtry and they had a son David together.
Her second husband, Nigel Tangye and her third husband David Lean (I) were first cousins. She and Nigel Tangye had a daughter Ann Francesca together.
She named her daughter "Ann Francesca". Francesca was her characters name in one of her most famous roles in "The Seventh Veil".
