Andrew R. Dick (born December 21, 1965) is an American comedian, actor, voice artist, musician and producer.

The Andy Dick Show was a television program on MTV created by comedian Andy Dick; it lasted two seasons from 2001-2003. This low-budget program is considered to be the successor to The Ben Stiller Show, which Dick starred in.

Every episode of the series was written and directed by Dick. Generally, he would appear as different character in several mockumentary sketches, with that character appearing as a talking head narrating events shown in Cinéma vérité and b-roll.

His most recognizable and frequent character was Daphne Aguilera, a rude, whorish pop star clearly modeled after the exploits and vices of Christina Aguilera and other pop icons. Daphne, according to "herself", is Christina Aguilera's cousin; in "her" words: "my mother's is her mother's cousin's friend... or they live on the same block. So, [Christina and I are] basically cousins". The Daphne character was heavily promoted by the real MTV in the weeks leading up to the premiere of The Andy Dick Show. The show's first episode featured the mock-single "Naughty Baby Did a No-No", a take on Britney Spears' suggestive "...Baby One More Time."

Daphne would later appear in other segments, appearing on MTV's Cribs and a parody of The View. Daphne even managed to perform "Naughty Baby Did a No-No" at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, but cancelled her own performance in the beginning angry and then tried to attack Christina Aguilera, who was laughing all the time (obviously it was all a joke). After The Andy Dick Show's cancellation, Daphne made two appearances on MADtv.

Several sketches featured Dick as imitating Tom Green, to the point where Tom Green once guest-starred, and the two played each other.

Dick was also fond of playing Marilyn Manson, whom he has satired in several sketches. In a 2001 interview on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Dick said that Manson actually invited him to Manson's home, and after watching a sketch called "Marilyn Poppins," Manson said it was the funniest thing he had ever seen.

Many celebrities appeared on the show, including some of Dick's former co-stars such as Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, Dave Foley, Maura Tierney, Stephen Root, and others such as Dave Grohl, Moby, Christian Slater, Nikka Costa, Rob Zombie, Sevendust, Drew Pinsky, Dr. Joyce Brothers, Vitamin C, and Edward Furlong.

Felt "NewsRadio" (1995) died with Phil Hartman (I), but honored his contracted obligation to stay with the show for the final season. He didn't like working with Jon Lovitz during that last year.

Was one of the last people to see David Strickland (I) alive as they binge drank in Las Vegas.

Has one son by his ex-wife and two children by girlfriend Lina.

He grew up a Navy brat and his dad worked on a submarine.

Following their 1990 divorce, he and his ex-wife continued to live together platonically for their son's benefit. They both entered long-term relationships and eventually they, their son, her boyfriend, Andy's new girlfriend and the two children the girlfriend had with Andy all shared the same home for many years.

Was the 1984 Homecoming King at Joliet West High School.

Was adopted by Allen and Sue Dick (both deceased). His biological mother's last name is Thomlinson.

Has three children: two sons (Lucas, born in 1988, and Jacob, born in 1994) and one daughter (Meg, born in 1997).

Attended Illinois Wesleyan University for one semester.

He considered himself very close friends with David Strickland (I), Phil Hartman (I), and Chris Farley. Farley died from an accidental overdose in 1997, Hartman was murdered in 1998 by his wife who then killed herself, and Strickland committed suicide in 1999.

Said on his MTV reality show "Assistant, The" (2004), that he lived in his car while he was a struggling actor in Los Angeles.

Is strongly against dissection of animals, due to his owning of a frog as a child.

For "Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner" (2006), Andy simultaneously spoofed Shatner and himself, for having played Emergency Medical Hologram #2 on "Star Trek: Voyager" (1995).
