Andrew Schofield is a British actor. Though he has been acting since the 1970s, he is best known for his role as Johnny Rotten in the 1986 film Sid and Nancy
Andrew was born in Kirkby, Liverpool, where he still lives with his wife Angela and was the star on Alan Bleasdale's 1984 Granada series Scully. He also appeared as Peter Grenville in Bleasdale's 1991 Channel 4 drama series G.B.H.
Stage credits include starring as the original Narrator in the first production of Blood Brothers in at the Playhouse in Liverpool and in the subsequent transfer to Lyric Theatre in London's West End, both in 1983. Andrew can also be heard on the cast recording of this production.
Recently Andrew was playing Dickie Lewis in Brick Up The Mersey Tunnels, written by Dave Kirby and Nicky Allt and as Smigger in another Dave Kirby play Lost Soul both at the Royal Court in Liverpool. He also played Brian in Good Golly Miss Molly at the Royal Court, Liverpool.
Most recently Andrew took part in Liverpool Nativity for BBC Three, the event took place on December 16th 2007 and was broadcast live. He played a Shepherd who in the modern version was now a homeless person and he sang the John Lennon song Imagine.
He will be reprising his role as Dickie Lewis in Brick Up The Mersey Tunnels for the third time when the show is staged again at the Royal Court, Liverpool from March 14th - April 12th 2008.
He is due to appear in in the Alan Bleasdale play On the Ledge at the Royal Court, Liverpool from 25th April to 24th May 2008

Andrew's eldest daughter Jessica Schofield is an actress and appeared with him in Lost Soul earlier this year.
He traveled to New York just before he starred in Sid and Nancy to meet John Lydon (Johnny Rotten from the Sex Pistols) to talk about the film and how he should play the character. After a great weekend of drinking and partying, the two fell out on the doorsteps of their hotel.
