Alvin and the Chipmunks is a 2007 family film about the life and return of the musical group Alvin and the Chipmunks (and in the animated series of the same name). It was directed by Tim Hill and produced by Bagdasarian Productions, New Regency Productions, and 20th Century Fox. The film has received generally negative reviews from movie critics, but has proved to be a huge financial success, making over $210 million to date in North America alone and nearly $330 million to date in total worldwide receipts.
