Alexander Fernandez (born August 13, 1969 in Miami Beach, Florida) is a former right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball who pitched for the Chicago White Sox (1990-96) and Florida Marlins (1997, 1999-2000).
In 1990, Fernandez won the Dick Howser Trophy for National College Baseball player of the year while pitching at Miami-Dade Community College. He later attended the University of Miami before entering Major League Baseball.
In little league, Alex played for the Hialeah Athletic Association (HAA) where he fine tuned his skills as a pitcher. Alex played for his father who was coach.
Going on a different path, Alex is doing radio and becoming active in politics, specially within his hometown of Miami Beach where he campaigned and helped elect its mayor.
Alex Fernandez (born July 22, 1967) is an American actor from Miami, Florida, known primarily for his work on television, most notably as National Security Advisor Anthony Prado on Commander in Chief and Rafael "Rafi" Alvarez on Without a Trace, as well as guest appearances on such series as The West Wing, CSI: Miami, Cold Case, and The Shield, among others. He is also noted for his voiceover work, especially as Maester Seymour Guado in Final Fantasy X and as Uka Uka in Crash Twinsanity, taking over the role from The Shawshank Redemption actor Clancy Brown . He has also had roles in other video games such as Saints Row and Dead Rising as Carlito Keyes, as well as in animation, including the films Vampire Hunter D and The Animatrix, and the series Spawn, Petshop of Horrors and Family Guy. He is married to actress Melody Doyle.
