Alex Carter (born Alex Apostolopoulos on November 12, 1964 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian television and film actor.
His television roles have included starring roles in Family Passions, Black Harbour, Traders, Made in Canada, Taking the Falls, These Arms of Mine and Veritas: The Quest, as well as recurring roles in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Jericho, Point Pleasant, Due South, and Burn Notice. His film roles have included Out of Time and The Island.
Alex Carter (born July 7, 1982 in Oldham) is an English actor best known for appearing in soap operas.
Initially acting in the Sunday evening drama Where the Heart Is in 1999, Carter joined the cast of Hollyoaks as the youngest member of the Hunter family, Lee, in 2001. After four years in the show the character left on a round the world tour and the actor quickly resurfaced in the Yorkshire set soap opera Emmerdale as Jamie Hope on February 16, 2006.
Carter is a loyal fan of Oldham Athletic football club, and hosts the Saturday afternoon sports programme on Oldham's local radio station The Revolution 96.2.
He has a girlfriend Sam, whom he met in a local pub.
His parents own the Post Office in Delph, Saddleworth.
His brother is in a band called The Whip.
Al grew up in Toronto, Canada and went to high school at Lawrence Park Collegiate Institute. After graduation, he followed his dream and left for Hollywood where he studied at The Beverly Hills Playhouse. He then returned to Canada to pursue his acting career where things took off and he appeared in several series and movies. He is now married with two or three girls. He moved back to the states a few years ago and is actively pursuing his career. He now lives in Santa Monica with his family and can be frequently seen running and biking along the beach.

Is a loyal fan of Oldham Athletic soccer club and is their ground announcer for home games.
In 1999 Alex auditioned for the part of Darren Osbourne in Hollyoaks, but he lost out to Ashley Taylor-Dawson. About four years later he was up for the part of Dan Hunter, but was considered to look too young for that part, but ideal for the younger brother.
