Alan Cox (born July 22, 1968 in Solihull, England) is a British computer programmer heavily involved in the development of the Linux kernel since its early days 1991.
Alan Cox (born June 23, 1971 in Ft. Lee, VA) has been an American comedian and radio personality for fifteen years. Cox is currently on the air at WKQX (Q101), in Chicago, Illinois. Before Q101, Cox was with stations in Rockford, IL and Kalamazoo, MI, before he began to come to prominence in the broadcast industry at WXDX in Pittsburgh.
Cox is known for his caustic wit, political comments, and controversial comedy routines. Defying conventional wisdom among radio personalities, Cox has been wildly successful despite divulging very little about his personal life.
Alan Cox (born August 6, 1970) is a British actor, the son of the Emmy Award winning actor Brian Cox. He was educated at St Paul's School (London).
He is most known for his role in Young Sherlock Holmes (1985), where he played a teenage version of Dr. Watson. He has also appeared in An Awfully Big Adventure (1995), Mrs. Dalloway (1997), and The Auteur Theory (1999).
In 2004, he guest starred in the Doctor Who audio adventure The Roof of the World.
In 1984, he appeared on an episode of "Miami Vice" (1984). Two years later, Miami Vice producer Michael Mann (I) cast his father Brian Cox (I) as Hannibal Lecter in Manhunter (1986).
