Jake Christopher Delhomme ( ) (born January 10, 1975 in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana) is an American football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League.
Delhomme struggled in the beginning of his career to stay in the NFL. Once he joined the Panthers, however, he quickly took over the starting quarterback position, and has held that spot for several seasons. In addition to holding several team passing records, he is considered one of the team's leaders. In week 3 of the 2007-08 Season, Jake suffered an injury to his throwing elbow after being hit by Atlanta Falcons DE John Abraham. Jake underwent Tommy-John surgery in October of 2007 and is still recovering. Delhomme is trying to be the highest profile QB to return from that type of injury.
